WOODWARD PRODUCTIONS BRINGS WORLD-CLASS THEATRE TO AUDIENCES IN QUEENSLAND, AUSTRALIA AND INTERNATIONALLY.

Since our inception in 2016, we have produced over 20 musicals, concerts, and plays. Woodward Productions has a focus on 'gateway theatre,' attracting new audience members into our arts economy and aims to tell stories that engage all of our diverse Australian communities.

The company has a history of developing and touring theatre, including Sherlock Holmes - The Mystery of the Valkyrie, a brand-new gripping theatrical play where Sherlock and Watson fight to save the world. A Very Naughty Christmas, the adults Christmas comedy show which will be presented in 2024 for the eighth consecutive year across Australia and London, Caroline O’Connor’s latest concert From Broadway With Love, Boys of Sondheim (Brisbane and Sydney), and Weathering Well (24 date tour of regional QLD). The company has also produced the Australian premiere of Yank! A WWII Love Story as a part of Brisbane's MELT Festival.

In addition to our existing repertoire, Woodward Productions is proud to to be Producing the Australian tour of Women In Black, which will visit 8 cities across Australia. We also take pride in our role as General Managers and Executive Producers for Prospero Arts, where we recently oversaw the season of Jersey Boys: The Story of Franki Vallie and the Four Seasons at QPAC. Additionally, we are thrilled about our collaboration on the Australian premiere of Peter and the Starcatcher alongside esteemed world-renowned production houses.

Alex Woodward - Founder of Woodward Productions

Since 2016, Alex has led Woodward Productions and produced more than 20 musicals, concerts, and plays. Woodward Productions has a focus on “gateway theatre" which attracts new audience members into our arts economy and aims to tell stories that engage all our diverse Australian communities.

The company has a history of developing and touring theatre including A Very Naughty Christmas, the adults Christmas comedy show which will be presented across Australia in 2024 for the eighth consecutive year, Caroline O’Connor’s latest concert from Broadway with Love, Boys of Sondheim (Brisbane and Sydney), and Weathering Well (24 date tour of regional QLD).

The company has also premiered two queer musicals (YANK! A WWII Love Story and Bare: The Musical) as a part of Brisbane’s Melt Festival and produced the award-winning revival of Sweet Charity in Queensland.

As well as his producing credits Alex has a unique insight into productions due to a decade of performing under his belt with credits including  National Tours of The Book of Mormon (GFO) and Grease, as well as performing with Sydney Theatre Company in the Australian Debut of Spring Awakening.

Claire joined Woodward Productions in 2023 as our Associate Producer and a General Manager.

Claire has a Bachelor of Music and recently concluded her third Brisbane Festival as Producer on Erth’s Shark Dive and critically acclaimed dance theatre production Salamander. Claire brings her passion for events and commitment to delivering exciting and engaging works to Brisbane, making it a hub for the creative arts. Claire has spent the last 3 years travelling around Australia’s Arts Festivals delivering events in various roles including logistics, event management and delivery, operations and more.

Marketing & Cultural Consultant - Christine Newton

ABOUT CHRISTINE

Chi joined Woodward Productions in 2020, initially serving as an Associate Producer for 3.5 years before transitioning into the role of Marketing and Cultural Consultant in 2023. Bringing extensive knowledge in digital marketing, events, and customer service, she has worked with international brands like Black Milk Clothing and Adorne, as well as consulted on numerous projects for digital marketing agencies. Since her transition from e-commerce to the arts, Chi has played a pivotal role in bringing numerous productions to life. Notably, she produced "SingEasy - Brisbane's Favourite Musical Theatre Night," showcasing the diverse talent that Brisbane has to offer.
